In 1962, the New York Yankees continued their dominance within the American League with another trip to the World Series. Standing in their way from boasting their 20th crown--the San Francisco Giants. Rain on both coasts delayed the series, and it took thirteen days to complete the closely matched, seven game series. Game 7 ended with a 1-0 victory for the Yankees, the run coming on a Tony Kubek hit that resulted in a double play and the single RBI. Remarkably, this victory meant that of the first 40 World Series contests, the New York Yankees won half of them.
